Over
3,500 delegates of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC)
will today, Saturday December 20, converge on the Baba Yara sports
stadium to elect national executives for the party.
The NDC delegates will come from all the ten regions in the country.
The NDC’s congress nearly hit an iceberg following various court injunctions that plagued the party.
Recently, a National Organizer aspirant, Aboagye Didieye dragged the party to court claiming he was wrongfully disqualified.
Though he claimed he had enough evidence
to prove that some leaders of the party schemed against him, he
subsequently withdrew the case from court.
Another member of the party also sued
Kofi Adams, a National Organizer aspirant challenging his credibility
for being suspended by the party, also gave up on the matter at the eleventh hour.
But after the initial hurdles, the leadership of the NDC have told Citi News all is set for the congress today.
