The
police have declared the remaining three robbers wanted and placed a
bounty of GH¢5,000 on each of them.On December 5, 2014, four armed
robbers killed the bank Manager, Mr Richard Sallah, after robbing him in
his residence.
Boadi told the team, led by the Ashanti Regional
Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Nathan Kofi Boakye,
that he and his three accomplices were all masked and armed with pistols
and one pump action gun. Murder
They also carried along with
them a heavy duty metal cutter and a car jack which was used to break
into Sallah’s house. Looking sad, Boadi, who is also known as Bafah,
showed the police how he, together with Emmanuel Aseisu, Alex, popularly
known as Topak, and Yaw, cut through the barbed wire outside.
According to Boadi, he was aided by the three others to scale the wall, entered the compound and hid himself among the flowers.
Later,
when he realised that Sallah and his family were indoors, he beckoned
the other three to enter the house. He said they used the car jack to
widen the metals in the window in the living room to gain access to one
of the rooms.
Boadi said from the room, he managed to open the
main door from inside, where they met Sallah and at gunpoint they
ordered him to show them where he kept his money.
Standing at the
exact spot where Sallah had been shot, fear-stricken Boadi claimed that
just as they were being led by Sallah to where the money was, the bank
manager tried to remove the mask on Alex’s face, but Alex quickly
responded by firing at Sallah, killing him instantly.
They then
ransacked the rooms and made away with one Compaq laptop, a Tecno
Phantom A+ mobile phone, one LCD TV set, three other phones and GH¢400.
Caution
Mr Boakye urged the public to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the remaining three suspects.
He,
however, cautioned that the three were deadly and armed with guns and
that “anyone harbouring these criminals must inform the police or
harbour them at his or her own risk”. |
